THE CAVANI STRING QUARTET
Friday, November 2 - 7:30 p.m.
Ames City Auditorium
The women of the Cavani Quartet—winners of the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and top prizes in numerous other prestigious chamber music competitions – have captured the hearts of audiences internationally, as well as their students at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Their repertoire includes the quartet music of all eras, and as active proponents of new music, they have commissioned the music of a worldwide array of living composers. The Washington Post describes the quartet as "completely engrossing, powerful and elegant." Nationally recognized as pioneers in arts-in-education, the Cavani Quartet is sought after by universities and communities for their ability to cultivate community partnerships.
